Job Description

The Project Manager Job for New Construction on commercial HVAC Controls is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and budgeting activities and financial reports concerned with the new construction or big retrofit projects. The Project Manager participates in the conceptual development of a project and oversees its organization, scheduling and implementation.  We are hiring this position to help grow our business to a higher level and you will report to an Operations Manager.  Our HVAC Controls are so vitally important to workplace comfort and building safety and this job play a very key role in accomplishing this.

While under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the Project Manager must be able to effectively and accurately perform the following duties that include but are not limited to:
- You will work with internal and external parties and customer's Superintendents, Foremen and Journeymen to plan, organize and direct activities concerned with assigned projects.
- You will establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications. Confer with engineering and specialist's supervisors to discuss such matters as work procedures, scope and scheduling and work sequence, project-specific safety plans, etc.
- You will monitor and control project through administrative direction of on-site union personnel to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
- You will work with our internal Financial Business Administration (FBA) team to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

- A Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience in Building Automation centered around Fire, Sprinklers, Life Safety Code Requirements managing projects related to Mechanical Retrofits,  BAS management
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated strong working knowledge of scheduling software, Microsoft Office (including Access and Excel)and MS Project 2013.
- Demonstrated ability to read and understand construction drawings, especially Mechanical and Electrical.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the appropriate codes and standards which govern design and operating requirements.
- Proven ability to successfully manage assigned projects that meet or exceed project schedule and cost estimate.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

- Bachelors degree in Project / Construction Management or related field preferred.
- Understanding of Title 24 and other related codes
- Four year technical degree in Mechanical, Fire Sprinklers or Electronics related studies preferred.
- Must have strong written and verbal skills
