Job Description
Loads and Controls Blade Design Manager
Boulder, CO

Position Overview
The Siemens Wind R&D Center located in Boulder, Colorado is looking for an engineering manager to lead the Loads and Controls blade design team. This position will be responsible for driving Blade R&D activities including: new product design, new technology introduction, design and analysis tools and processes, and quality assurance. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-driven leader who possesses a strong, multi-disciplinary technical background coupled with excellent communication, organizational, and team building skills.

As the Loads and Controls blade design manager, your primary tasks will cover:
- Driving, coordinating, and providing technical engineering team oversight for product development projects
- Driving the development of the blade design and analysis capability in terms of tools, methods, processes, etc.
- Improving speed, accuracy, efficiency, and quality of the design process
- Assessment and implementation of new technologies
- Driving continuous improvement through validation feedback from both lab-based and full-scale field test and measurement
- Ability to lead, manage and motivate both direct reports and non-direct report team members
- Effective interaction, communication, and collaboration with both local and global engineering and management teams

The Loads and Controls blade design manager will possess the following attributes:
- Educational background in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. Master degree required
-8+ years of relevant experience
- Knowledge and experience in rotor design, turbine control and load analysis
- Knowledge and experience in product development processes and technology development
- Experience in the wind industry required
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to solve difficult technical challenges through innovation, dedication and cooperation with a global team
- International engineering experience preferred
- Previous experience in team leadership and development desired
