Job Description
The Advanced Therapies (AT) division of Siemens Medical Solutions has an opening for a Senior Hardware Engineer to develop Cardiac Cath Lab products. The position is located at our Hoffman Estates, IL facility.

• Leadership - Provide technical team leadership to a small group of engineers.
• Hardware Design Specification - Write and review design specifications for new product features
• Hardware Prototyping - Design and develop prototypes to evaluate new technology and assess feasibility
• Hardware Development - Design, implement, review and test electrical medical equipment
• Hardware Testing - Conduct and evaluate accelerated lifecycle testing to ensure our high quality standards
• Innovation - Follow trends in the market and evaluate applicability to our medical products
• Requirement Reviews - Participate in reviews and work with Systems Engineering to ensure proper implementation of features
• Peer Reviews - Conduct and participate in peer reviews to ensure product quality

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field required. Masters degree a plus
• 5+ years of electronic hardware development experience preferably in a medical device or other regulated environment
• Proven leadership abilities
• Good understanding and proven design experience of small signal analog circuitry, A/D conversion, instrumentation, and signal conditioning
• Design experience with electronic systems using digital logic (micro-controllers, ASICs, PLDs, FPGAs, etc.)
• Hands on experience designing digital integrated circuitry using e.g. VHDL, AHDL, Verilog, ALTERA, XILINX
• Digital signal processing design experience a plus
• Knowledge of PCI, PCIe, USB standards beneficial
• Some C, C++, Windows programming experience, a plus
• Windows driver programming experience, a plus
• Experience with world-wide safety, susceptibility, and EMI requirements (UL1262, IEC 60601, CSA, CE Mark)
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Produce excellent results with minimal supervision
• Strong quality orientation and customer focus
• Ability to travel domestic and international working with our OEM partners (5%)
