The Siemens PLM Strategic Student Program (SSP) is a unique opportunity for undergraduate college students to gain real world working experiences in the growing field of software and digitalization. Our focus is to hire students who want to work most, if not all, of their co-op rotations with an industry leader (main focus is sophomores and pre-junior status).  We provide a community and strong mentoring to prepare you for the world of work and for regular full time opportunities upon graduation.
As a Siemens Product Engineering Software (PES) Co-op working on our premiere, world class CAD product called NX, the future of our software is you!  Our Co-op program will allow you to work with one of the very few pure software development firms in Cincinnati. Our long term goal is to provide you building blocks for each successive rotation/semester you return to Siemens PLM Software. With each rotation, you will delve deeper into quality assurance, software development and, if you would choose, we also offer rotations into the business side of our products, giving you exposure to business analysis. You will begin your initial rotation familiarizing yourself with the company, completing smaller scale tasks and projects.  As your skills increase, your responsibility and assignments will grow with you on each consecutive rotation with PLM.

Co-op Duties and Expectations:
As a Co-op in Product Engineering Software you will get exposure to many phases of PES's Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).  Depending on the phase PES is at in our SDLC, tasks given to students can consist of: gathering requirements and/or prototyping, designing parts using released or in development product software, and environment support. A full cycle of PES's SDLC will typically be longer than one semester. So, returning semesters will often have a different focus than the previous semester. For example, one semester you may work on designing parts for a customer using released software products, while the next semester may focus on improving the quality of the software and prototyping ideas for the next release.
•Use NX software to create parts and assemblies
•Work with mentor to understand the needs and functionality of the area assigned to student
Minimum Requirements:

•Studying for a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field.
•GPA of a 3.0 or higher
•U.S. citizen or Green Card Holder eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
•Must have demonstrated skills in engineering and geometry
•Must have experience using computer-aided design and/or engineering software
•Ability to continually improve and learn new areas
•Ability to work well in a team
•Ability to effectively communicate, especially the ability to articulate technical content
•Familiarity with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a plus
