Duties and Responsibilities

 Operating Plants Business (OPB) Providing global field services and instrumentation and control solutions to new and operating plants. The objective for this position is to mentor, coach, and collaborate with OPB China project management teams, bringing vision to Westinghouse process. Take overall responsibility on OPB China projects delivery performance.
  • Take overall responsibility on Westinghouse OPB China projects delivery performance. Including on time delivery in every milestone, execute under as sold cost plan, delivery with high quality and win customer high satisfaction.
  • Lead project management team member, cultivate positive and straight forward team culture. Empower Project Managers to lead project teams (including engineering, quality, supply chain) and achieve high performance levels.
  • Closely monitor f existing risks and determine  potential risks during project execution. Lead monthly risk management meeting, define and lead immediate mitigate action to reduce risks.  
  • Promote high efficiency teamwork throughout project execution and provide feedback to Project Managers on individual and project performance.
  • Establish effective interface with Customers for Major Programs.
  • Communicate project status, issues, customer satisfaction to appropriate management levels.
  • Work effectively with suppliers, domestic and international, to improve performance and meet Westinghouse and Customer expectations.
  • Work effectively with marketing and engineering to develop strategies and support proposal development and contract negotiations for given business area.
  • Understand mentoring techniques and tools available on Westinghouse George Intranet site.
  • Recommend personnel to enroll in the GPEx PMDP based on business need, evaluation of individuals' experience and performance.
  • Provide developmental project assignments for apprentices with the support from OPEx. Set expectations and reinforce the project manager role according to the GPEx PMDP standards.
  • Co-author project management documents along with the apprentice according to requirements defined within the Global Project Excellence Procedure.
Review, confirm proficiency and sign off the qualification card skillset expectations as the apprentice progress through the qualification process.
Job Requirements
Competencies & Achievement
  • Setup project management KPI measurement methodology in 6 months. Including on time delivery of each milestones, compliance cost plan and revenue forecast in each month. Setup Project execution quality measurement methodology in 12 months (Designing, supplier material, manufacture and programing).
  •  Lead weekly project review meeting with PM team. Including contract and appendix level milestone review, and project finance review. 
  • Lead monthly China Project finance review with China function managers. Review current month actual finance performance (Objective/Plan/Actual); close watching on next month finance plan. Overall fiscal year finance rolling forecast (cost & revenue) review.
