In this position, an Outage Manager can expect to be responsible for the following:
  • Direct, plan and manage Westinghouse and customer outage execution activities prior to, during and upon close-out to ensure successful completion of outage evolutions in a quality manner consistent with mutually established goals.
  • Responsibilities include coordination of all Westinghouse services, Management of Westinghouse site personnel during execution, management of overall financial performance; including management of scope expansion and change notice process, invoicing of milestones, receivable resolution and minimizing the variability from plan.
  • Develop effective "team" relationships with utility personnel, various Westinghouse product lines, Westinghouse  Account  team personnel  and various vendor  organizations  required to  execute  the  outage.
  • Provide the primary focal point for all communications (technical and commercial) externally and internally relative to a specific outage services.
  • Generate new business opportunities by evaluating potential scope expansion areas to support outage services on a generic basis, as well as, participating in the development of site specific technical and sales strategies with identified customers.
  • Evaluate customer bid specifications for integrated outages (packaged services); and direct, coordinate and solicit various business units, business segments, or department technical and financial input in support of the proposal process.
  • Lead, coordinate and implement generic and site specific Total Quality improvements/lessons learned from customer feedback/critique sessions.
  • Provide leadership in the application of  Westinghouse outage  standards expectations.  Set the  culture  for  utilization of  the  HuP tools.

Job Requirements
Specific Desired Skills:
The successful candidate for this position will possess the following:
  • Thorough understanding of nuclear outage service business and outage management practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of nuclear power plant activities. Working knowledge of commercial, customer service, utility, and industry processes.
  • Working knowledge of nuclear power plant operations, maintenance, and outage management practices.

Specialized Education and/or Experience Requirements:
  • BS degree in engineering required.
  • 10 years experience in operations, maintenance, sales, engineering, or training in nuclear power plant systems which includes 4+ years direct customer service implementation and outage services or project management, Licenses and/or certification required: Licensed Senior Reactor Operator preferred.
  • Problem Solving Areas of concentration: control the rising performance and cost control standards and expectations of outage services customers, Challenges include defining, improving and showcasing outage management technologies, demonstration of increasing value added, development of methods to minimize outage duration and to identify and reduce outage costs, and improving the profitability of the outage services product line.
  • Resolve materials and services cost issues through integrated programs with support management Motivate workforce to increase productivity without compromising safety, human performance or regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to Travel 50%-75%
