Position Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Marine Engineering Instructor to join the Marine Department based in Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia.

The applicant is expected to train Saudi Aramco nominated candidates in matters related to Marine Engineering. Candidates will be expected to conduct training activities in class-rooms, shops, simulators, shipboard environments and remote offshore/onshore operation sites as required by Saudi Aramco. As a member of the Engineering Faculty, candidates will be expected to operate as a Subject Matter Expert for Marine Engineering curriculum writers. The candidate should be able to deliver high quality instruction in a range of Marine Engineering Courses. Hold knowledge of all aspects of Marine Engineering which includes, Marine Engines, Hydraulics, and Refrigeration & Air-conditioning, Marine Auxiliary systems, Jack Up Barges & other machinery system applicable to different offshore vessel types. Possess the ability, and be committed to stay current in program areas & best industry practices. Ability to perform shop practices with the highest safety & industry standards to ensure safety of staff, Trainees, facilities and equipment. Have the ability to manage programs and resources effectively.

Minimum Requirements
As the successful candidate you will have completed an HND/HNC in Marine Engineering from a recognized Maritime academy or Nautical College and be in possession of a Class IV Motor Certificate of Competency.


Must hold Certificate of Competency and completed High School education.

Thirteen (13) years of experience including eight years at Sea, one of which serving as Chief Engineering Officer 6000 HP.

Must be in possession of at least a valid Class II Motor Certificate of Competency (Unlimited), Granted by an internationally recognized authority; must have eight years at sea, three of which as Watchkeeping Officer in charge of the watch while holding 2nd Class Motor Certificate of Competency preferably on offshore oil related Vessels.

Duties and Responsibilities
You will be required to perform the following:

Candidates will be required to perform all of the duties and responsibilities of the Marine Engineer Instructor, and in addition, will be responsible for training and developing the Marine Engineers & crew for the Saudi Aramco Fleet vessels.

Organize and supervise the various Marine Engineering Training programs. Prepare, instruct and grade all Marine training programs including training candidates towards Engineer certificates of competency in compliance with STCW standards.

Promote positive trainee learning outcomes through effective teaching.

Train candidates with topics relating to modern Integrated Engine and machinery systems applicable to different offshore vessel types.

Develop new Marine Engineering training programs & periodically review existing training programs to comply with current industry standards at all times.

Participate in training programs & Self-development as required.
