Job Overview:

The IT Project Manager, PMO facilitates the effective planning, management, and governance of CB&I IT projects of varying complexity, using industry accepted project management methodologies and supportive tools throughout the entire project life cycle from proposal through closeout. This includes all processes related to ensuring the successful prioritization, launch, execution, and delivery of IT projects and initiatives. The IT Project Manager, PMO identifies and manages project issues, risks, and dependencies and effectively communicates solutions to team members and management. The IT Project Manager, PMO will also be called on to mentor and educate IT staff on project management best practices, CB&I IT policies and procedures, and plan development. The IT Project Manager, PMO is comfortable working in a highly matrixed environment and has developed strong negotiation and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Project Management: provide project management leadership, guidance, and day-to-day execution, ensuring initiatives are executed on-time, on-budget, on-scope, and with expected quality, in accordance with stated business & technical objectives.
  • Scope Management: identify, document, and manage delivery of project work.
  • Time Management: develop, manage, execute, and control the project schedule.
  • Cost Management: planning, estimating, managing and controlling project costs to ensure project completion within budget.
  • Team Management: organize, manage and lead project team, including internal and external partners.
  • Supplier Management: develops and manages effective working relationships with internal and external partners participating in a project and with whom work must be coordinated or interfaced.
  • Stakeholder Management: identify and manage demands, needs, and expectations of internal and external parties affected by project.
  • Risk Management: identify, document, analyze, and formulate responses for controlling risk on a project.
  • Procurement Management: contribute to the purchase or acquisition of products, services and materials needed for project delivery including contract management, terms and conditions, SoW definition and execution, capital analysis, and fulfillment.
  • Project Closure: responsible for capturing lessons learned data from project execution and making those available to the rest of the IT Organization.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in an IT environment with at least 4 years of direct IT program/project management responsibility for managing complex IT infrastructure, software development, database and/or operational projects.
  • Knowledge of methods and standards in the field of information management and data planning and architecture.
  • Intermediate-level experience using Microsoft Project.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, other related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP, Project Management Certification.
  • Experience delivering enterprise-level IT projects in a PMO setting.
  • Expert-level experience using Microsoft Project to build and maintain work-based, resource-loaded schedules.

  • Some business travel may be required as project needs dictate
