Job Overview:

CB&I's Oil and Gas division currently has an opening for a Principal Environmental Process Engineer f or our Houston, TX location. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work independently and in a team setting within a dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for following process flows and process design data to determine environmental control requirements then specify the appropriate equipment. The Engineer will also be responsible for the applicable modelling of EPC projects.
  • Performs as Subject Matter Expert in Air Emissions Control Systems, Wastewater Treatment Systems, or Hazardous Waste Management Systems, and USEPA Environmental Regulations and Standards.
  • Assists with training other engineers by providing instruction on new technologies and/or a specialization.
  • Maintains and promotes a focus on CB&I's end product whether engineering, fabrication or construction.
  • Responsible for complex deliverables such as conceptual process design, process simulations, heat and material balances, P&ID and PFD development.
  • Is able to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts to other engineers and non-engineers.
  • Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines.
  • Ensures effective management of change.
  • Adopt and leverage CB&I's Engineering Standards. Maintain or support any site specific requirements or standards.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Chemical or Environmental Engineering required
  • Minimum 15 years experience chemical or petrochemical engineering
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Environmental Engineering
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
  • 15 years in Environmental Engineering within an EPC firm
  • Masters of Science Degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer, State of Texas
  • Experience as an Area or Team Lead
  • Experience with LNG or Ethylene related projects
  • Track record of successfully supporting the similar size organization and investment
  • Customer focused, dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers
  • Relates well to all levels and kinds of people; able to build appropriate rapport; listens well
  • Self-starter; results driven; anticipates/initiates and implements solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
