Job Overview:

This individual is responsible for implementing the program to develop, maintain, and govern the enterprise architecture. The Enterprise Architect is also responsible for adhering to the Enterprise Architecture (EA) process and the architecture review process and leads the effective integration of these processes with other related business and IT processes.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
  • Develops relationships with key internal/external customers to identify emerging needs
  • Develops strategic plans to align with business objectives and information technology roadmap
  • Document physical and logical topologies of information systems
  • Develop and maintain reference architectures to be used as the basis of new project deployments
  • Analyze current information systems architecture and recommend solutions for improvement
  • Analyze market trends and determine potential impact upon the enterprise
  • Participate in the planning hardware and software for new projects
  • Consult with business teams to assure projects align with existing technology standards
  • Influences customer and/or organizational leadership to accomplish strategic objectives

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, systems analysis, or a related study, or equivalent experience.
  • 7 + years in at least two IT disciplines in a multi-tier environment, including but not limited to technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management, operations
  • OR 7 + years of experience in business analysis or business strategic planning
  • Respected leader
  • Influential in the organization and a team player
  • Strong supporter of the business ideals and strategies - an advocate of and for the business
  • Sound business judgment toward technology vendor and product choices; more interested in results than in personal choices

Other Details:

Internal Interfaces:
  • Reports to the Enterprise Architect Manager
  • Has close working relationships with IT Management, senior staff, and LOB management
  • Maintains a mentor relationship with the rest of the Enterprise Architecture team as well as across the business and IT organizations
External Interfaces:
  • Has regular contact with outside vendors and contractors/consultants for additional support as needed
  • Develops relationships with professional organizations, user groups, and industry trade groups to stay current with business and technology trends
  • Participates actively in architecture development forums locally and around the world
