The Sales Manager, Renewable Energy Onshore Wind will be responsible for driving profitable growth in the Renewable Energy Onshore Wind portfolio through increasing sales of GE's world class wind turbines and services. You will maintain existing customer relationships, develop new clients, create product demand and demonstrate an ability to work closely with product management, services, supply chain, finance, commercial operations and projects.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Sales Manager, Renewable Energy, you will:
  • Identify and create close working relationships with all key personnel at assigned accounts and develop a thorough understanding of their renewable energy strategies and needs
  • Promote a customer centric mindset within the Renewable Energy business
  • Provide commercial and technical assistance to assigned accounts and foster the development of their renewable energy strategies
  • Ensure GE wind products and services have favorable consideration in all projects at assigned accounts
  • Understand the impact of national and regional market drivers, financing and competiveness of GE's Renewable Energy Onshore Wind products and services
  • Identify project issues early and anticipate competitor moves.
  • Stay current with the development of GE's new Renewable Energy Onshore Wind products and services and effectively communicate their value to assigned accounts
  • Identify, develop, and close sales opportunities with assigned accounts
  • Identify, understand, and communicate to the Renewable Energy business, customer issues which are critical
  • Work effectively in a team environment with Commercial Operations, Product Line, Engineering, Finance, Project Management, and Services to ensure the most efficient use of all resources
  • Integrate broader GE Power and GE Energy Connection products and services into both strategic and transactional activities and opportunities
  • Participate in and support renewable energy trade shows, conferences, and other market development activities.
  • Support and participate in additional GE cross-business activities and processes such as Cross-Business Lead Sharing and Net Promoter Score
  • Maintain accurate and current project and opportunity information within the on-line Sales Force application tool and manage the ITO (Inquiry to Order) process for assigned accounts
  • Participate in annual sales and customer planning processes
  • Be accountable for orders, pricing / profitability, cash, risk assessment, terms & conditions, and customer satisfaction


  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in power generation equipment sales or completion of a GE leadership program

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.

  • Master's Degree in Business from an accredited university or college
  • Practical understanding of current and emerging requirements of the renewable energy or power generation markets, and customer financial drivers and needs
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders and focus on priorities
  • Proven ability to operate in a team environment and work in a matrix organization
  • Strong communication skills and confidence with executive level presentations
  • Strong interpersonal, team building, and negotiation skills; ability to work with colleagues and customers at all levels of the organizations
  • Flexible travel schedule
  • Consistent track record of meeting performance objectives
  • Self-starter with high energy and ability to energize others
  • Key measurements will include performance relative to assigned accounts and region Operating Plan (orders, margin, cash, sales, Region Sales Leader objectives), performance to Goals and Objectives (developed in cooperation with Region Sales Leader), orders forecasting and accuracy, Quality and accuracy of "Strategy to Win" plan developed for Risk Reviews, demonstration of GE Beliefs, and support of other regional and GE initiativesves
  • Management of T&L (travel and living) and other expenses
  • Knowledge of related products, services and markets
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
