This Regional Oilfield Product Application Specialist belongs to GE Water's Chemical & Monitoring Solutions and will support existing and new oil field chemicals and solutions in mainly Colombia, Peru, Venezuela and Mexico

Essential Responsibilities

• Support oilfield business by writing treatment proposals/presenting tenders and request for quotations, visit customer sites, conduct process surveys, field trials and optimize treatment with relevant operational parameters.
• Trouble shoot chemical injection treat rates, advise on trial protocols, recommend effective formulations and chemistries.
• Work with global technology team to expand regional offerings, bridge gaps and enhance capabilities.
• Conduct field bottle and jar testing to select cost effective products to suite customer challenges.
• Work closely with commercial team to support existing and new business.
• Analyze performance data from monitoring devices and translate it to useful information leading to track-able actions to improve system performance and meet target KPI's.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports on each visit and discuss the findings and status of the treatment program with customer and in-country commercial team manager.
• Work closely with upstream sales leader to introduce and try cost effective solutions at customer sites.
• Initiate lab product selection and evaluations to support product recommendations to meet customer needs
• Own and manage field trial chemical and equipment kits in the region and ensure healthy conditions of the kits and inventory of disposable items.
• Work with in-country oilfield focal points to support opportunities within GE strike zones.
• Assist with product delivery outside normal scope when needed due to high volume activity.


• B.S. in an engineering/science discipline (Chemical or Petrochemical highly preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of relevant sales, product management or marketing experience in the E&P industry.
• 10-15 years of oilfield treatment experience
• Demonstrated ability to create a vision, a strategy around this vision and drive a plan to execute
• Strong process and project management skills with ability to drive projects and meet deadlines
• Proven success in developing and leveraging cross-functional and cross-business relationships
• Strong analytical, process and computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Preferably based in Colombia or decided to move to that country permanently.
• Current and valid driver license and passport.

• Memberships on professional organizations, related training courses, previous related projects and assignments.
• Knowledge of Product Management / Marketing expertise, including: market trends / analysis, NPI process, product roadmap development, product life-cycle management.
• Leadership skills to lead teams and shape / lead growth vision and marketing strategy.
• Regional customer and competition experience around chemical treatment products
• Innovation - develop new ideas for products and MCP through collaboration and execute on creative ideas.
• Demonstrated presentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a matrix environment.
• Proven ability to influence and negotiate internally and with customers.
• Multiple language proficiency is preferred
