The Senior Controls Engineer - oOEM (other Original Equipment Manufacturer) Services Engineering will lead projects and initiatives on non-GE gas turbine technology with broad scope and high impact to the Power Services business. You will serve as a recognized expert in the GT oOEM services field, both internally and externally, partnering with customers and industry leaders.

Essential Responsibilities

As the Senior Controls Engineer - oOEM Services Engineering, you will:
  • Be responsible for major and complex assignments related to product support and engineering consulting services for non-GE gas turbine technology with long-term business implications and an opportunity to greatly impact customer success
  • Work with Customers and Users Groups to determine core services products applicability, identify technology challenges on non-GE gas turbine technology, and develop strong customer relationships
  • Provide product support, including emergent support, engineering outage processes, and strategic reliability and quality improvements
  • Resolve in-depth, technical issues in non-GE gas turbine technology for customers in an efficient and timely manner
  • Partner with GE Power Services and GE Power Digital in the areas of Monitoring & Diagnostics and Software & Analytics to develop remote monitoring and analytics capabilities on non-GE gas turbine technology
  • Identify and manage product safety risks
  • Provide mentorship and knowledge sharing to the worldwide oOEM Engineering technical community
  • Communicate fleet and product issues to executive leadership, engineering teams, commercial teams and external customers
  • Participate in Services and New Units programs, including NPI Design Reviews, to represent Service Engineering; provide serviceability, fleet history and customer view points; capture potential opportunities for future productivity and outage cycle reduction
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and products that lead to better customer outcomes, communicate and influence organizations on potential improvements, and lead improvement projects related to aforementioned role functions

  • Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • Minimum of 7 years engineering experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of technical experience in gas turbine controls engineering or aircraft engine controls engineering
  • Minimum of 1 years in a customer facing product service / support, life cycle engineering and/or remote monitoring role

    Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    Desired Characteristics

  • Masters degree in Engineering, (Mechanical, materials, systems, or aero engineering)
  • Minimum of 10 years of technical experience in gas turbine engineering
  • Knowledge of and prior experience with non-GE gas turbine technology
