The Commercial Process Analyst will own the translation of operational activities into finance processes for GE Water & Process Technologies globally. You will own the wing to wing process from order creation to cash collection, focusing on monitoring key inputs for accuracy & standardization. In addition, you will be a process-minded expert to quickly link operational triggers to finance processes, identify and standardize global inconsistencies, & drive process change in an organized manner.

Essential Responsibilities

The Commercial Process Analyst will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

As the Commercial Process Analyst, you will:

  • Serve as a business partner to the regional and global commercial finance and operating teams to drive business initiatives
  • Create process flows for revenue cycle from order creation to invoice generation
  • Partner with technical / business leaders and staff to drive process health scorecards
  • Ensure operational processes are in compliance with revenue recognition policies
  • Be responsible for annual update of revenue recognition assumptions in compliance with GE GAP (General Accounting Procedures
  • Define sub-processes, owners and operating procedures to drive process accountability
  • Serve as Global owner of customer order policy and reporting
  • Drive standardization & process improvement from project setup to project close-out, including best practice sharing with the Projects COE
  • Have an effective understanding of project management, how cost and schedule impact all projects
  • Understand hand offs between functions and interaction with supply chain and sourcing
  • Understand return in investments and capital allocation
  • Own system architecture including hierarchy management and reporting
  • Define and manage master data maintenance process
  • Understand NPI and how we do technology budgeting
  • Drive process improvement and demand reduction
  • Interface with GOF (Global Operations Finance) and Operations teams
  • Support internal audit requests related to revenue recognition


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university ( OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a finance role)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a finance role
