We not only design and build these facility systems assets but also operate, maintain, and manage these facilities.

The Vehicle Evaluation and Verification (VEV) Signoff Engineer is responsible for validating electrical subsystems and determination of compliance to applicable specifications. The Engineer must plan and manage the workload by determining the priority of the tests, the vehicle complexity required, the time needed to complete the tests, and the availability of other resources. Validation is performed on all vehicle programs and must complete by engineering signoff milestones. The Engineer also provides test support to the functional Design & Release (D &R) team. VEV Signoff Engineer provides vehicle validation deliverables at major program milestones.

  • VEV Signoff Engineer completes vehicle validation at program milestones.
  • Responsible for Electrical Sub-System Validation testing, root cause analysis of issues identified, and interacts with respective functional D&R engineers to drive issues to closure.
  • Experienced with CAN validation tools and data logging processes.
  • Coordination of logistics including vehicle and parts planning, scheduling vehicle requests, etc.
  • Self-motivated individual with the drive to improve the current processes and drive best practices.
Position Description / Responsibilities:
  • Performs vehicle validation and delivers on-time and high quality verification of subsystems at required due dates with no excuses.
  • Performs vehicle validation to determine compliance to test acceptance criteria.
  • Responsible for Pass / Fail determination of tests and performs root cause analysis if there is a failure.
  • Identify vehicle configurations needed for validation and time required to complete validation testing.
  • Creates test reports and evidence. Documents test results in online test database.
  • Performs test development and process improvement.
  • Creates or modifies and updates test procedures to increase testing efficiency and robustness.
  • Trains test technicians on how to perform validation testing.
  • Able to operate manual transmission vehicles.

            Bachelors' degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or Mechanical Engineering.

            Preferred Qualifications:

            • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
            • 1+ years of experience in Tier 1 / OEM electrical systems, Electrical and Electronic Systems Engineering (EESE) or Vehicle Evaluation and Verification (VEV).
            • 1+ years of experience in validating Electronic Module Software.
            • 1+ years of experience in the use of CAN (Controller Area Network) messaging and VECTOR CANALYZER test tools.
            • 1+ years of experience in automotive electrical systems testing, failure analysis, and root cause identification. Understands automotive electrical schematics and wire harness drawings.
            • Able to operate manual transmission vehicles.
            • Experienced with testing in the lab and road testing in the vehicle.
            • Good software programming, test automation and script development skills.
            • Experienced in Electronic Module Flashing and configuration, and Bread Board testing.
            • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
            • Self-directed, highly motivated, self-starter and skilled individual with strong demonstrated leadership and technical problem solving skills.
            • Knowledge of Automotive Electrical Architectures .

            Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with possible weekend support as needed.

            Critical for employee to be there on time on a regular basis.

            Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday-Friday. Regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important, but not critical, except for deadlines and meetings. Punctuality and regular attendance are necessary to meet deadlines. Must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to surge situations based on critical mission requirements.

            Other Essential Functions

            Must pass a drug screen, Background check, and Health Performance Evaluation. Must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. Must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in English, both verbal and written. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. Independent personal transportation to office or work site is required. Travel to and from customer's locations and the test fields may be required to support projects. This may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can possibly be made for POV, if necessary. When operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
