NES Global Talent is currently looking for an E&I Designer with experience working in the Nuclear Industry for a long term contract in Cumbria.


You will provide technically focused support to the client design engineer in the production of arrangement; detail drawings and basic calculations support projects from concept through to site implementation and operation. You will need to be a strong user of AutoCAD and/or Inventor as well as being a quality driven designer who can work to tight deadlines.


Your job duties will include:
  • Ensuring that developed designs comply with appropriate legislative and internal Safety requirements
  • Interpretation of drawings and specifications provided by internal and external customers on a broad spectrum of nuclear
  • Preparation of layout drawings, basic calculations, selection of propriety equipment associated with projects and work packages
  • Carry out site surveys, inspections and information collation activities
  • Produce bid, tender and construction drawings using manual and CAD systems
  • Assisting the Design Engineer in the preparation of cost estimates for production of designs and drawings
  • Ensure defined project tasks are completed to quality and within time and budget constraints, in compliance with relevant standards/legislation and customer procedures
  • Assist with the implementation of project site works
  • Assist in the testing and commissioning of equipment and systems
  • Contribute to the compilation of Commissioning, Operational, Life Cycle and Care and Maintenance documentation for projects
  • Understanding and use of computerised drawings systems CAD and the disciplines involved in the secure storage and retrieval of CAD information

This is a contract position initially for 3 months, but could be extended. The client is ideally looking for candidates in the local area and will not be paying for travel or accommodation. SC clearance will be required.
