Department Overview

The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

Position Summary

Coordinates and conducts public safety education to enhance safety for schools, communities, civic and emergency agencies/organizations, contractors, and the utilities industry. Acts as an on-site liaison for PG&E in providing advice and guidance to public safety agencies during emergencies. Provides recommendations to mitigate public safety issues. Acts as an advocate to ensure that safety practices and procedures are incorporated, communicated, adhered to, and issues are resolved within all activities, events, and functions. Develops a public safety strategy for Electric Transmission and Distribution.


• Bachelors Degree or a combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 5 years related experience

• Experience in operations
• APCO-American of Public-Safety Communications Officials Public Safety Communications certification
• POST-Peace Officer Standards and Training Public Safety Dispatcher certification, California
• Competency in relating openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people
• Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local environmental regulations and laws - for example land acquisitions, endangered and protected
species - as needed to perform at the job level
