Generate, support and grow our civil engineering business efforts in the New York City area with both private and government agencies and have a hand in transforming tomorrow.

This New York/New Jersey Aviation Manager will be responsible for new business generation, cultivation and growth in the New York City area with both public and private clients in the aviation and civil engineering portions of our business. This team member will drive new business efforts with existing and established business, as well as be the key driver in uncovering needs with new clients in the NYC area.
Various tasks and responsibilities to include:
  • Working on various civil engineering projects at various airports both nationally and internationally, with a primary focus on the PANYNJ client and the NYC area
  • Perform airfield civil engineering design tasks for projects from preliminary to final design; manage the bidding process; and provide services during construction
  • Preparation of plans and specifications, engineers reports, cost estimates, quantity take-offs, airspace analysis, construction and safety phasing plans
  • Grading and drainage design, E&S control design, pavement design and evaluation, airfield pavement markings and signage, landside roadways, parking lots, fencing and obstruction analysis
  • Mentor and assist junior engineers in developing final design plans, including geometric layout, pavement design, grading and drainage, and airfield lighting
  • Coordinate design and construction management activities and meetings between the client, staff, subcontractors, and CH2M
  • Coordinate the planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety and organization of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff
  • Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling performance Identify schedule and cost variances and develops and implement recommendations for corrective action
  • Help grow the Project Manager resources of the firm through the coaching of others and participating in the development and delivery of learning events Interact with CH2M project teams and client program level directors
  • Have strong written and oral communication skills and a team-oriented attitude

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
  • Minimum 15 years of civil engineering experience
  • Four year degreed civil engineer from an accredited civil engineering program
  • Ability to demonstrate business development and project proposal experience
  • Ability to demonstrate AutoCAD and other similar civil engineering design software experience and expertise
  • Very experienced with FAA design criteria, funding and airport stakeholder requirements
  • Candidate should demonstrate strong client management and consultant team management skills
  • Candidate should demonstrate experience in working with multiple stakeholders to build consensus as well as cost efficient and on-time performance of programs
  • Experience in Windows environment and software applications including Microsoft Office Suite

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
  • Master's or advanced degree
  • Experience at airport systems in the Northeast
  • Active member of and leadership roles in committees and executive boards in organizations such as:
    • Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO), Construction
    • Management Association of America (CMAA, American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC)
    • American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE)
    • Airports Council International - North America (ACI-NA)
    • Airport Consultants Council (ACC)
