Provides oversight of all Operations Training Programs. Manage and oversee department supervisors and specialists, ensure regulatory and accreditation requirements are maintained, oversee the corrective action program, effectively deploy resources and interface with upper management and regulatory agencies, and review employee performance, recognition and discipline. Coordinate/responsible for daily Operations Training-specific meetings to provide oversight and direction for Operations training activities. Provide oversight for exam development, lesson plans, simulator guide, and Training program schedule review and approval. Interact with Operations Training CFAM and other fleet Operations Training personnel including weekly conference calls, NRC exam reviews for other fleet sites, respond to benchmarking requests from Fleet and external sites. Responsible for industry working group involvement (INPO and NRC) relating to Operations training improvement initiatives. Provide direct oversight of NRC exam development for NRC initial license exams and annual licensed operator exams including interface with NRC personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree is required.
  • Seven (7 ) years of related experience is required.
  • Five (5 ) years of nuclear power plant experience is required.
  • Five (5 ) years of training instructor or supervisory/management experience is required.
  • Candidate must be senior reactor operator (SRO) licensed or SRO certified, or previously SRO licensed or SRO certified at a commercial nuclear facility.
  • Experience in two of the five following areas is required: Operations, Maintenance, Work Management/Outage, Nuclear Support or Engineering/Technical Support.
  • ANSI standards apply to this position.
  • Operations supervisory or managerial experience and Subject Matter Expert (SME) line experience may substitute for the five (5) years of training instructor experience and two (2) years of training supervisory or managerial experience.
Preferred Certifications:
  • Current or previous instructor certification is preferred. If employee is not currently or has not obtained instructor certification previously, employee must obtain the certification within one year of moving into position.
Education Preferred:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related technical field or a non-technical degree including curriculum development is preferred.
