WindLogics is currently seeking to add a Sr. Resource Modeling Analyst to their solar and storage analytics team. The analyst's primary responsibilities will be to run sophisticated solar irradiance and statistical models to produce long-term energy production estimates for solar energy farms, serve as a team technical lead, participate and lead product development and present project results to upper management and executives. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Solar irradiance and solar farm operational data collection and filtering
  • Review of electrical/structural drawings of commercial and utility scale solar farms
  • Analyze system energy loss due to wiring, transformers, soiling, snow etc.
  • Diagnose operating assets for plant optimization
  • Investment due diligence support
  • Financing support
  • Site intelligence and field services, including construction screening, on-site instrumentation audits, shading analyses
  • Meteorological instrumentation and siting recommendations
  • Mentor team members
  • Review project results prior to delivery
The position will be based in Juno Beach, FL with up to 3 months of training upon hiring in St Paul, MN. Travel is expected approximately 10% of the time.

Required Qualifications
  • 5 years' experience working in the solar energy industry
  • Knowledge of PV energy generation modeling software, such as PVsyst or SAM
  • Knowledge of solar PV system design and components
  • Knowledge of solar meteorological instrumentation and other solar monitoring tools/programs
  • Proficiency with computer programming in languages such as R/S , MATLAB, C or Python
  • Advanced abilities with MS Applications, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

  • MS Degree electrical engineering, statistics, atmospheric science or related field
  • Knowledge of storage technologies and modeling
  • Experience with utility, commercial and rooftop systems
  • Advanced coding skills in R
  • Experience with ArcGIS suite, Google Earth and other geographic mapping programs
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Google Sketch-up or other solar design programs
