Working within the Information Management Enterprise Architecture Group, this position will develop and maintain the high level logical and technical architecture and strategy for the Enterprise. Examples include Desktop, Collaboration, Unified Communications, Mobility and other IT Infrastructure Architecture. Key components of the role include: technical research; developing prototypes; gaining organizational commitments; communication to internal and external stakeholders; guiding IT investments within the company; shaping vendor and industry groups; conducting pragmatic evaluations of emerging technology; and ability to translate business / technology vision to practical NextEra Energy opportunity / impact assessment.

The Enterprise Architect will continue to develop and refine next generation computing, including application hosting [e.g. cloud strategy, storage considerations, operating systems (Windows, Unix/Linux, etc), and open source solutions], desktop architecture (Win7/10/virtualization), Mobility and "Bring Your Own Device" program, integrating Unified Communications and Collaboration to maximize anytime, anywhere, any place experience.

Candidates applying for this position must demonstrate a high level of proficiency in the following:
• Proven strong technical architecture and design skills in Windows Desktop and Server environment (minimum Windows 7 & Server 2008R2 required), Active Directory, Exchange, Skype For Business, SharePoint
• Fundamental knowledge of Consumerization of IT, Virtualization (Desktop, Application, Server/Cloud), Mobile platforms (e.g. iOS and Android), Unified Communications and Collaboration (e.g. Skype For Business, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, SharePoint , etc)
• Ability to view business and technical enterprise from end to end
• Awareness of the technical complexities and opportunity of Cloud computing , Federation, SDN, and NFV
• Solid Cyber Security understanding for Desktop, Server, Network technologies
• Excellent communication, written and presentation skills (to technical and business audiences)
• Strong bias for action and ability to work across multiple business levels and technical areas
• Strong aptitude to learn, ask the hard questions, and drive value based IT innovation
• Ability to facilitate hard discussions to reach consensus decisions (where possible)
• Make sound decisions based on key business drivers (not just technical concerns)
• Champion of change, challenge the norm; promote and foster continuous IT improvement
• Build/maintain contacts with experts in line of business, vendors, represent the company at state & national industry groups
• Recognized as a leader (in the role as an individual contributor) , with strong ability to mentor others
• Ability to investigate, and report in business terms, on emerging technology trends that may improve cost position (e.g. Implications of Windows 10 and the Microsoft Business Store on the Enterprise)
• Hands on experience within an R&D role, strong knowledge of technology evaluation principles and practices
• Practical understanding and demonstrated application of Quality tools (Six Sigma, Lean etc)
• Experience of IT and Business Architectural principles and methodologies such as TOGAF

Preferred Qualifications:

• College degree strongly preferred
• Enterprise Architecture experience, or, similar position across multiple technical domains
• 12 years in a large corporate environment, focusing on cross functional complex initiatives
• Position will require travel between NextEra and vendor locations as required
• Willing to travel at least 4 times per month to NextEra locations (day trips), with limited out of state travel (4 times per year)
• Work extended hours when needed
