The purpose of the Area Service Manager is to proactively manage and support on site and external service activates across a number of selected Wind Farms'. This will involve achieving safety, revenue and profit targets, maximizing profitability in line with contractual obligations and implementing Vestas corporate strategies within the Wind Farm locations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mix of Project Management, Field Service Management, Operational Management as well as proven experience in managing a sizeable P&L.

Coming from an Engineering discipline would be highly advantageous; whether this would be within Construction, Telecommunications or Energy.

The ability to work within a team environment is crucial as well as the energy and drive that is needed for this position.

  • Proactively manage the service team on various wind farms and provide support to maximize turbine uptime.
  • Ensure HSE policy is effectively implemented and managed at each site.
  • Ensure transition of projects from construction phase to Service Contracts.
  • Fiscal responsibility to Vestas, i.e. budget expenditure, revenue, cost control.
  • Proactively manage and report to the client, applying contractual obligations, and extending Service Contracts.
  • Be active in the development of the business by ensuring system efficiency, setting progressive service policies and strategies and presenting to Steering Committee.
  • Proactively develop self by undertaking technical and product training, and ensuring staff management capabilities are sufficient.
  • Manage contractor and sub-contractor relationships and selection.
  • Development and retention of Staff.
  • Achieving Service and Project Excellence.
  • Achieve Customer Satisfaction level of 75% plus.
  • Assist and support back office functions.
