The ideal candidate has a background in finance and/or financial management with analytical experience, understands
and is familiar with the principles of project management, is well written and well spoken. Position responsibilities may
include, but are not limited to, providing administrative and financial management support and coordination to a complex
hybrid contract with Award Fee and Level of Effort (LOE) element, project, task(s) or business unit. Duties may include
contract accounting and reporting, project schedule focus to management, tracking annual fiscal plans and monthly
updates, labor rate tracking, contract administration, and purchasing. Maintains contract budgets, prepares contract
billing, estimates materials, equipment, production costs and delivery schedules. The Financial Analyst supports the
program and/or project manager working with the project control team, and is responsible for reporting on the financial
health of the project by: analyzing costs, revenue, risks, and pricing of a particular project or program. The analyst
maintains budget tracking tools, issue invoices and billings, manage fee structures and forecast potential gains and
losses; as well as develops monthly financial status reports, review board documents and data, briefs to the customer
and documents historical financial performance in the Project Management Plan. They will also be required to provide
analytical review, feedback and recommendations to the Program and Project Managers they support.

The Sr. Financial Analyst will perform the following tasks:
  • Sr. Financial Analyst should expect to work on extremely complex tasks with in depth data analysis requirements on large contracts requiring an immediate and executable, in depth knowledge of contract financial management
  • Sr. Financial Analyst can also expect the possibility of having more than one contract to manage with multiple reporting lines of communication
  • Perform principle role of monitoring, controlling, financial management and historical financial data collection and oversight in support of Program and Project Managers. Including funding analysis, profitability tracking, labor & non-labor financials, program funding charts, monthly expenditure charts, ETC/EAC calculations, cost variance charts to analyze historical financials and track current task spending
  • Develop detailed cost estimates (labor and ODC) throughout the contract and prior to each contract award term
  • Review, understand, analyze and work with contract representatives regarding contract related issues, requirements and deliverables
  • Understand basic government contract structures, track and manage contract mods and funding lines to coincide with budgets
  • Assist Division, Program and Project Managers with set up and maintenance of tasks within the company financial accounting system (DELTEK/Cost Point/COGNOS)
  • Verify accuracy and validity of financial data, provide feedback and recommendations to contract management
  • Review and analyze subcontractor estimates, financial performance and deliverables
  • Develop customized cost studies, metrics and trend charts to analyze and forecast performance
  • Interpret scope, time and cost data to arrive at conclusions and recommend solutions avoiding financial and technical performance problems
  • Interact informally (phone/email) and formally (program/progress reviews) with stakeholders to provide clear picture of contract financial performance, including company Director of Finance, Division Managers, Program Managers, other Executives, and employees; Corporate Finance, Contracts and Human Resources; and potentially Customer Program Managers
  • Understand, manage and develop contract related supporting data and deliverables
  • Collect, assemble and conduct quality assurance of monthly deliverables
  • Perform "what if" analysis on contract performance
  • Work well in a team oriented environment
  • A senior, experienced professional with a full understanding of financial management, data related quality assurance and historical preservation of contract related information (both financial and administrative)
  • Will be expected to help resolve a wide range of issues across multiple CLINs
  • Expected to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
  • Should demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques in obtaining solutions to complex issues
Additional Responsibilities may include:
  • Review, analyze and track invoices
  • Manage procurements, including identifying vendors and generating cost estimates in accordance with contract requirements
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required
  • Participate in proposal development events and cost projections for same
  • Mentor less experienced analysts
  • Participate in process improvement events, writing project control policy and process
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance Required
  • Education and Experience: BA or BS degree in the appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university, plus ten (10) to thirteen (13) years of progressive and relevant experience. Additional relevant education may be substituted for progressive experience.Similar working level obtained through relevant job experience may be accepted in lieu of degree level education.
Skills & Experience:
  • Greater than 10 years related documented experience if no degree performing a combination of Financial and Control Analyst Functions.
  • Documented high degree of proficiency with MS Office Suite, web-based applications and databases (specifically Excel).
  • Business Finance and Accounting Professional Credentials are a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills (Written and oral); able to effectively interact with associates at all levels. Understanding of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and of International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9XXX.
  • Basic understanding of Program and Project Management Principles.
  • Detail oriented and efficient Multi-Tasker.
  • Ability to learn new tasks and concepts quickly while in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Self-Motivated Team Player but able to work independently. Related experience: Former DoD experience highly desirable (military or civilian), strong understanding of timekeeping and financial management systems, DELTEK/Cost Point/ COGNOS financial managements is preferred.
  • Worked in Project Management-principled environment is a plus.

Equipment, Machines & Software:

Computer work required. Must be proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel. Use of calculator, printer, fax, scanner, telephone, filing cabinets, and other standard office equipment is required.


Attendance and punctuality are essential in this highly collaborative environment. Overtime work may be required in support of customer deliverables or other priority assignments as determined by management.

Must be able to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements. Must be a U.S Citizen. Must possess a valid state driver's license. Must pass a Federal background investigation. Must submit to pre-employment drug testing.
