Jacobs Technology is looking for a highly-motivated, energetic self-starter to join the AOC Fielding Team as the AOC Network/BSS System Administrator. The successful candidate will have detailed experience in the configuration, installation, deployment and fielding of relevant components in an AOC WS environment, including Cisco routers/switches, McAfee Sidewinder firewall appliance, host-based intrusion detection, ACS Secure, CiscoWorks, and other network management items. The candidate will also work problem identification and root cause analysis, including problem report management and resolution tracking. The candidate will work closely with the C2 Network SME's and Lead for interface and interoperability items, documentation and schedule. May be required to collaborate with external entities and 3rd party commercial providers for support.
Hands-on user familiarity on installation and configuration of Cisco routers and switches, Cisco UCS and Nexus devices, McAfee Sidewinder firewall and Cisco Secure ACS.
  • Security+ required.
  • Solarwinds, NTP, EIGRP, etc.
  • CCNP/CCDP/CCSP, CCIE, CCIE Security, CCNP are desired.


BS degree and 10 years of experience; MS and 8 years of experience; or PhD and 3 years of experience required.


Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current Secret clearance.

This position requires 50% travel.

Work Environment

Generally an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

Physical Requirements

Work may involve sitting for extended periods. May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. Must have sufficient mobility to enter areas of manufacturing and military sites or facilities where necessary.

Equipment and Machines

Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, fax, etc.), and/or other industry-specific equipment.


Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.

Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must be able to travel when necessary to accommodate customer and program requirements.
