Jacobs is currently seeking a NOC Technician to join their team at their customer site in the Reston, VA area. This is a swing-shift which the hours for this position will be approximately 2PM-10PM and candidates must be willing and able to work these specific hours.

The network operations center (NOC) technicians provide Tier 2 IP network operations. They identify, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents in multiple and complex local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), customer networks, Intranet and Internet and other data communication systems. They ensure network availability and reliability to all system users and while performing necessary maintenance and incident resolution. Responsible for the dispatches to repair network cabling and drops to workstations and peripheral equipment in the Washington Metropolitan Area.

Responsible to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLA's) are met within Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets. Interfaces daily with the customer and program management to inform and present information on projects or maintenance activities while providing situational awareness of critical services and outages.
Active TS/SCI w/ Poly Required

Typically requires an Associate degree in a computer field and eight (8) years of related experience. Progressive relevant training and/or certification may be substituted for a portion of the experience requirement.

Minimum of 3 years experience in IP Networking operations, maintenance, or engineering.

Desired Certifications: Cisco CCNA or Juniper JNCIS, ITIL Certifications

If certifications are not current, candidate will be required to obtain a minimum of a CCNA or JNCIS certification within 6 months of their start date

Work Environment

General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Physical Requirements

Most work will be done at a desk or computer.

Equipment and Machines

General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.


Attendance is critical at all times. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
