We are seeking individuals with utility mapping experience to support the expansion of our buried services division within the UK Geomatics business. The surveyor will be required to efficiently organize and maintain field survey teams and equipment to complete utility mapping tasks project tasks. They will be able to review job specifications and plan fieldwork methods, and accurately observe, calculate and record field data.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrable experience working on Utility Mapping projects and project experience.
  • Demonstrable experience managing Utility Mapping field crews.
  • Work without direct day-to-day supervision and make technical and supervisory decisions for projects assigned within specified limits of authority.
  • Experience in identification of and marketing to scanning clients
  • Experience with operating and interpreting digital outputs from various Utility Mapping instruments including the IDS Duo series and Radio Detection
  • Experience with Land Survey modelling software.
  • Land Surveying experience
  • Full driving licence is essential

Desirable Skills

  • Bachelors degree in a technical field preferred but not essential
  • Professional Membership of a Chartered Institution
  • Evidence of planning daily activities considering possible multiple projects to meet productivity goals set by Project Managers.
  • Evidence of recommendations to Project Managers for external equipment, procedural changes, and new equipment purchases.
  • Evidence of input to Project Managers and Group Leaders for the formal performance evaluation of crew members.
  • Evidence of survey department and field team training
