Jacobs Cyber Security Group (CSG) provides highly sophisticated network systems design, engineering, operations, and maintenance, and offers cutting edge cybersecurity solutions for our customers in the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and other federal agencies. We deliver an integrated approach to network engineering design and network management, as well as full IT lifecycle service management, IT service delivery, asset management, logistics and procurement support, and software/hardware vendor management. Our network engineers, controllers, and technicians are trained in multiple disciplines to successfully maintain legacy systems as well as insert the latest technologies for voice, data, and video networks in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

The Java Software Developer will:
  • Review and test software components for adherence to the requirements and document test results.
  • Resolve software problem reports.
  • Utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment.
  • Provide specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, use of Commercial Off-the-shelf (COTS)/Government Off-the-shelf (GOTS) in place of new development, and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Typically has a BS degree from an accredited college or university in a related scientific or engineering discipline and five (5) to eight (8) years of progressive experience, or an MS degree in a related scientific or engineering discipline and four (4) to six (6) years of progressive experience, or a Ph.D. degree in a related scientific or engineering discipline and zero (0) to three (3) years of related engineering experience. Required Qualifications:
  • TS/SCI poly
  • Five (5) years of experience with a variety of Java Script libraries
  • Five (5) years of experience with JMS
  • Experience deploying to Tomcat/Apache
  • Experience performing file manipulation using XML/XSLT
  • Experience working with PKI
  • Experience working with classified systems
  • Work individually or as part of a team

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements:
Sitting at a desk. Phone use and PC or laptop. May require lifting and carrying supplies. Extended periods of sitting while on PC/laptop or phone.

Work assignments dependent on requirements by the client. If hired for a full-time position, it is important to be able to work at least 8 hours a day for 5 days per week (Monday through Friday).

Other Essential Functions:
Must be able to obtain/maintain clearances as required for the position. Must be able to access customer work location. Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance - dress is typically business casual, but is dependent on the client's standards.
