Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Construction Manger this position provides direction to General Contractor regarding quality, safety, and general day to day operations. This is site based position and is the day to day first line of contact with craft labor on the project site. This position location is within a Military Base and subject to additional screening procedures per client requirements base on location. (Fort Huachuca, Sierra Vista, Arizona)

The Inspector Monitors the activities of contractors and subcontractors performing craftwork, ensuring compliance with project quality, safety, and security requirements

Ensures that subordinates are trained on and aware of specifications and work procedures and are utilized to ensure optimal efficiency

Maintains effective schedule and cost control of craft personnel

Plans required work activity to ensure that design drawings, tools, equipment, and materials are available when needed

Responsible for safety of supervised personnel; ensures that craft personnel comply with established safety policies and procedures, and that they practice safe work habits

Safety Oversight Assistance

• TI will report directly to a Jacobs' PMAC Area Manager

• TI will be required to pass a Federal Security background check

• Administer the construction contract as:

Government Designated Inspector

Military Base Liaison & Coordinator on Commissary Renovation and Sustainment Projects

• Contract Monitoring and Enforcing of quality and compliance issues

• Technical Advisor to DeCA Project Manager

• Construction Submittals Management and Review

• Contractor's Construction Schedule Review

• Change Order Management

• Monthly Pay Requests Processing

• Request for Information Management

• Design Issues Coordination

• Phased Inspections and Turnover Management

• Pre-Final and Final Punch List Inspections Management

• Conducts and Records routine weekly Owner/Contractor/Commissary progress conferences throughout project's life

• Daily Reporting thru project database

• Coordinates with Base and PMAC Consultants (Architect or Engineer, Commissioning Agents, Refrigeration Consultant, Roofing Consultants, Polished Concrete Consultant)

• Closeout Management

• Warranty, Record Drawing and O&M Management
Required talents and experiences include:

  • TIs should have at least 10 years experience in Construction Management or A/E Construction Administration with facility construction projects exceeding $10 million dollars
  • Strong Skill set with Drawing and Specifications Review, Interpretation and Application
  • 10 years of construction project experience.
  • Change Order documentations and estimating
  • Construction Schedule update review and comment
  • Monthly Construction Payment Application Review Process and Approval
  • Site Field Inspection capabilities
  • Ability to lead and coordinate with Owner and Consultants
  • RFI Management
  • Construction Submittal Management
  • Knowledgeable in Building Codes and standard construction Test Procedures
  • Strong in Microsoft Office Programs, Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Technical Memo Writing and experience with web based construction management programs.
  • Formal Project Closeout experience
