Job Description

Provide overall leadership and direction for the Jacobs Global Quality Management system (known in Jacobs as - Business Management System (BMS)).

Primary Duties
  • Accepts overall responsibility and accountability for maintaining the Quality Management system (BMS) which includes all company policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Monitors and reports on performance of the Business Management System to executive management at defined intervals
  • Ensures the internal review and audit program is established and audits are performed as scheduled
  • Works with VP Global Quality, the Process Owner for the Quality Process, to ensure Quality policies and procedures are maintained and updated as required
  • Works with Jacobs personnel and selected consultant to drive the update and restructure of the Global Policies and Procedures and the successful implementation of the same
  • Serves as a member of the Management System Steering Team
  • Prepares Annual Quality/Performance Management Plan and outlines strategies and goals for the Fiscal Year (FY), and monitors progress towards goals
  • Provide support and guidance to the Line of Business (LOB) personnel as required relative to quality issues.

  • Technical Skills and Experience
    • Experience in developing ISO compliant globally integrated Quality Systems
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Degree in a technical field is a plus)
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Quality Management
    • Strong background in Quality Engineering and/or Lean Six Sigma (ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and/or LSS Black Belt certification a plus)
    • Understands ISO 9001 and related international management system standards (e.g. AS9100, ISO TS 16949, etc.)
    • Experience in working with external certification and systems standard agencies.
    • Significant management system auditing experience (ISO Lead Auditor and/or ASQ Certified Quality Auditor credentials are a plus)
    • Sound background in use of statistical analysis and/or statistical process control
    • Relevant experience in the use of improvement tools such as: 5S, Value Stream/Process Mapping, Kaizen, Design of Experiments and/or other similar tools
