  • Consults with lead engineers, department manager, and project managers on technical problems, staffing requirements, and schedule issues relating to project commitments for deliverables
  • Assists with assigning lead and other engineers to project teams, ensuring the best utilization of their talents on the specific project requirements
  • Assists with recruiting piping material and engineering personnel
  • Monitors progress and performance of all personnel on assigned project teams to assure quality workmanship
  • Provides guidance/supervision to other engineers and function as mentor to less experienced engineers.
  • Provide closer interface with, and promote the understanding of, other discipline functions.
  • Demonstrates customer focus in all actions
  • Reviews and maintains a set of Jacob work process, work instructions, specifications, and standards for responsible projects
  • Continually monitors project staffing requirements, and recommends addition or removal of assigned personnel as required by project needs
  • Reviews and approves time sheets
  • Reviews scheduling of vacations to minimize job disruptions and substitutions of manpower for responsible projects
  • Provide review input on routine performance appraisals of personnel on project teams
  • Provides consultation to others on how to accomplish goals
  • Responsible for the training and upgrading of personnel in project team
  • Role model of professional communication, relationship building, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Responsible for departmental success on responsible projects
  • Approves all man-hour and material estimates
  • Keen safety awareness
  • Able to perform job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility
  • May require travel to international offices or jobsites
  • Large Capital project experience is preferred ($1B and above)BS or MS in mechanical or structural engineering preferred
  • BS or MS in mechanical or structural engineering preferred
  • PE license preferred
  • 20+ years of total experience required
  • 15+ years of oil & gas and/or chemical plant EPC experience
  • Must have experience with Caesar II or Auto Pipe

  • Must have extensive background in pipe flexibility and stress analysis, including but not limited to heater piping, compressor piping, and high/low temperature piping systems.
  • Experience in managing an engineering department
  • Exhibits leadership traits and abilities
  • Demonstrates a broad technical knowledge of engineering
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA for any employer other than your current employer
