Jacobs Technology is looking for Transportation Operations Managers in the Jacksonville FL, Kings Bay GA, and Mayport FL areas.

The Transportation Operations Manager shall have authority and responsibility for assuring prescribed performance objectives and standards in the implementation and management of a comprehensive industrialized transportation program. This will consist of vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair, vehicle and equipment operations to include dispatch, Weight Handling Equipment (WHE), Material Handling Equipment (MHE), Cargo, people movements, operator licensing and training, inspection and certification, and specified administrative program management.

BS degree from an accredited college or university in Industrial Engineering or related and fourteen (14) years related experience, or MS degree and twelve (12) years related experience or Ph.D. and eight (8) years of related experience. CMRP Preferred. The Transportation Operations Manager shall have a minimum of 5 years' experience in managing Transportation Operations in a Base Support Vehicles and Equipment (BSVE) or Civil Engineering Support Equipment (CESE) environment. BSVE includes, but is not limited to, automotive vehicles, construction, and railroad equipment. DOD Secret Clearance preferred. US Citizen and ability to obtain and maintain DOD Secret Clearance required. Experience and familiarity with NAVFAC P-300 and NAVFAC P-307 required. Experience within a Port Services environment desired .

Physical Requirements

Must be able to work at a computer, desk, around base, and port side for extended periods. Must be able to walk and drive with valid driving credentials. Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of employees and customers.

Equipment and Machines

Computers and General Administrative Equipment (e.g. phone, computers, copiers, printers). BSVE including vehicles such as buses, sedans, trucks, carryalls, station wagons, ambulances, refuelers, defuelers, truck trailers, brush, structural, aircraft fire fighting, Marine Tactical Vehicle Requirement (MTVR) and rescue operation trucks; WHE such as mobile or transportable truck, crawler, railway mounted locomotive cranes, and trackage used for lifting, moving, and placing heavy material or equipment and category 1-4 cranes; and MHE such as warehouse tractors, forklift trucks, rough terrain forklift trucks, platform trucks, pallet trucks, conveyors and conveyor systems, and straddle carrying trucks.


With the exception of approved leave and holidays, attendance is mandatory. Overtime is anticipated.

Other Essential Functions

Must take and pass a drug test and background check. Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must be willing to travel as-needed.
