We are currently executing many contracts, performing work that is essential to our clients' missions across a broad range of functional areas.

Jacobs Federal Operations is seeking an Instrument and Control Engineer in Oakridge, TN area (locals preferred). The instrument and Control Engineer will perform routine aspects of engineering requiring knowledge and application of basic engineering principles under close supervision.

  • Researches, develops, and designs a variety of equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial and industrial purposes.
  • Evaluates the desired goal of the system and develops, designs, or selects the required equipment and controls to achieve the goal.
  • Performs calculations and evaluations in the design of equipment and systems for industrial and commercial applications.
  • Participates in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects.
  • Directs activities to ensure that construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications, recognized codes and standards, and customer requirements.
  • Maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer/client.
  • Support the development of Piping and Instrumentation (P&ID) drawings.
  • Ventilation and Instrumentation drawings (V&IDs), instrument lists, and datasheets.

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical (or Electronic) Engineering required
  • Instrumentation & Control Engineer with 3+ years of experience required
  • Basic knowledge of ISA standards and drawing symbology required
  • US Citizenship required
  • Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment required
  • EIT certificate is preferred
  • Previous instrumentation design experience is preferred
