This position will reside under the Petroleum & Chemicals Americas line of business and reports directly to the Manager of Estimating in the Houston, Texas office. The ideal candidate for this position will be knowledgeable in construction execution methods, have experience in developing all classification ranges of estimates, and have a thorough understanding of how Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Project Controls are to be integrated on a project.

  • Must be able to see things on a macro & micro level
  • Must be able to determine methods or have means for identifying & developing missing scope
  • Must be able to perform data analysis on both high and detailed levels
  • Must understand how projects are constructed in the field
  • Field & Office experience (preferable)
  • Must be able to lead an Estimating Team
  • Must be able to follow and drive established Work Processes & Procedures
  • Must be able to write a concise and detailed Estimate Basis
  • Must be able to develop Total Installed Cost estimates (directs, indirects, engineering, other, escalation and contingency)
  • Must understand how Project Controls functions are integrated (cost/ scheduling/ estimating) with Engineering/ Procurement and Construction

  • Technical Degree from 4 Year University (preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience (minimum)
  • Must have experience in coordinating and estimating Mega Projects
  • Must have experience in Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (ACCE) [aka Icarus/Kbase]
  • Must know how to perform Import / Export functions within ACCE
  • Must be able to set up Power Distribution & Process Control strategies within ACCE
  • Must be able to set up Construction & Procurement execution strategies within ACCE
  • Must be able to set up multiple Work Forces within ACCE
  • Must be able to set up complex Work Breakdown Structures, Construction Work Packages, etc... within ACCE

Must be willing to travel; Must have (or is able to obtain) a valid passport.
