As a part of Vestas Technology & Service Solutions, the Turbine Loads and Performance department is responsible for calculation of loads, power curves and noise to new product development, technology development, innovation projects, Product improvements and sales support and as such develop the tools and technologies needed for Vestas to be competitive within these technology areas. This includes as well the design of blades together with the blade structural- and aerodynamic departments.
Currently, the department consists of 28 highly skilled and motivated, multicultural engineers situated in Aarhus, Denmark and in Chennai, India.

The Loads & Performance Engineering department drives and is responsible for technology development related to loads and performance of Vestas wind turbines, with the overall target of reducing the cost of energy for Vestas products. Further the department is responsible for the development and execution of the tools used for generating design loads and power performance for all Vestas wind turbines.

As technical Lead Engineer you will drive the development of specific technologies resulting in lower loads and/or increased power performance for new and existing products. Depending on the qualifications of the candidate projects can for instance be related to blade design optimization for new products, turbine operation and performance optimization, aero-elasticity and load calculation methodologies, wind turbine and blade stability assessment

The ideal candidate is an experience load engineer with a good understanding of related technologies such as wind turbine control and blade design for wind turbine applications. Further the candidate can drive and technical lead a technology project involving a close cooperation with experts from other technical areas.

The ideal candidate has preferably 3-10 years of relevant experience within wind energy engineering or similar field including knowledge of aero-elastic simulation tools preferable for use in the wind turbine industry. Further the candidate has a relevant M. Sc. or PhD.

  • Experienced Load Engineer with good knowledge of related technology areas
  • Good programming skills in preferable Matlab
  • Experience with the tools Flex5, Bladed, HAWC2 or similar
  • Experience in leading projects
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong drive for development and pro-active behaviour
  • Solid language skills in English required

Danish language skills are not mandatory and we welcome international applicants.
