Global Service

Vestas' Global Service business was spun out as a separate business unit during 2014 due to the growing commercial and strategic significance of the service business. With our corporate strategy "Profitable Growth for Vestas" we have communicated specific, ambitious growth targets for service in coming three years. To achieve such targets while keeping our cost base steady requires a fundamental shift in how we operate - commercially as well as operationally.The Global Service Excellence team is responsible for driving further our Service Business' continuous improvement and execution excellence culture. We drive the process for Strategy Deployment, work on establishing global concepts, and execute breakthrough improvements based on world class methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.


You will be part of a team of Lean and Six Sigma black belts in different geographical regions who will work constantly on increasing the Operational Excellence maturity of the Service business. While having keeping high Safety and Quality standards, you will engage with our front line operational organization in order to create value for our customers and shareholders, execute improvements to reduce operational costs, and increase speed and productivity through waste elimination.

The tasks you'll perform in your region will include to:

  • Secure Lean Six Sigma deployment
  • Asses training and certifications needs.
  • Perform periodically Lean maturity assessments
  • Execute Lean Transformation plans based on Lean maturity assessment
  • Facilitate kaizen
  • Reduce operational costs through Lean Six Sigma implementation and development of standard concepts,
  • Facilitate share of Lean best practices across different regions.


  • Academic degree Bachelor level or higher
  • Minimum 5 years of Continuous Improvement experience and track of success
  • Ideally experience in the area of the Wind Industry or in a factory/manufacturing environment such sectors such as Aeronautics or automotive.
  • A High English Level is a Must.


On the personal level it is very important that you possess leadership and persuasiveness and have strong stakeholder and interpersonal management skills. You have experience with change management and implementation in a complex organization. You must also have extensive experience driving improvements based on Value Stream and Communicating the next steps towards future state in a way that makes sense from an Operational point of view. Further competencies are outlined below:

  • Relevant certification or education in continuous improvement disciplines (Lean Six Sigma)
  • Able to connect Operational Excellence concepts with operational and financial performance,
  • Superior analytical and conceptual thinking, creative problem solving skills,
  • Ability to create impact & receive buy from management teams and functional teams,
  • Able to manage multiple projects in different countries or time zones,
  • Superior written/verbal presentation and communication skills in English

Additional information:

We are open to the primary location (Australia (Melbourne) or India (Chennai)
50% national and international traveling is expected.
