Vestas Mediterranean (MED) is an independent Sales Business Unit (SBU) within Vestas Wind Systems A/S, covering markets in the Mediterranean region, the Middle East, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Northwest Africa. Vestas MED is responsible for developing these markets in terms of sales, project installation, and customer service.
Vestas has been operating on the Latin American market since 1992 with a Sales & Service office located in Buenos Aires. More recently new offices have been opened in Mexico DF, Sao Paolo and Santiago de Chile. Wind farms are mainly located in Chile, Brazil, Uruguay, Jamaica, República Dominicana, México and Argentina.
With regards to México and the Caribbean, there is significant interest from governments, and a number of wind developers are very active in the region. In order to crystallize all the existing activity into relevant business results, these markets are demanding the engaged leadership of experienced industry players.
The Construction department is in charge of the construction of wind projects (EPC) and installation and commissioning of the wind turbines (supply & installation) under contracts sold by the sales department.

Responsible for the management and coordination of all the activities relevant to the wind turbine installations in his geographical area of responsibility, managing Vestas human resources, tools and subcontractors in order to achieve projects timelines and objectives, ensuring the respect of the Safety and Quality Company standards within Corporate guideline.
  • Installation resources management:
Provide management, support and leadership to Site Managers and Installation Supervisors to meet customers' and corporate's objectives. Manage internal installation workforce, coordinating and supervisioning the implementation of needed training plans according to Corporate and MED Training programs and specific employee competences development plan.
  • Projects resources management:
Manage internal resources for projects wind turbine installations (people and tools) in co-operation with the Project Management team, in order to meet specified Projects time scheduling and objectives.
  • Quality:
Responsible for the implementation of Vestas Project Quality Plan, fulfilling general Vestas Quality Management System (Vestas Business Processes, Installation Manual and Work Instructions, NCRs management, signature of Installation and Commissioning Statement of Quality) and Project specific additions/Customer specific requirements. Improve quality and efficiency at site, including LPF
  • Safety:
Responsible for ensuring that installations are performed according to the Vestas H&S plans and Corporate H&S manual. Support actively the action Drive for Safety in order to continuously prevent and reduce the number of accident of Vestas employees and subcontractors

  • She/He will have at least 7 years of experience in installation management and construction, preferably acquired in the wind industry or in the energy sector.
  • Professional experience in managing human resources and coordinating multi-site field activities (installation and/or maintenance)
  • Technical Diploma or higher Degree
  • Experience in installation and EPC contracts, preferably export and international.
  • Team & people management.
  • Strong proficiency in spoken and written Spanish and English.

  • Excellent communications skills, customer orientation and proven ability to work cross functional as well as externally with customers and consultants.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Computer literate (MS Office), and SAP would be a plus

Additional Information
Primary work location is in Mexico D.F. with high level of national travel and presence on sites. International travel may be also required.
