Global Energy Management (GEM) is one of ENGIE's Business Units. We deliver services in supply and logistics management, asset management, risk management, market access management, while contributing to the market understanding, design and efficiency and developing market solutions to accelerate the energy transition.

The STR Business Developer will work in the GEM business unit. Specifically, the STR Business Developer will be part of GEM/ETS (ETS stands for Energy Transition Services), a team of 30+ in charge of developing energy market solutions to accelerate the energy transition (Central Western Europe scope). The main activities of the team are centered around Services to Renewables (wind/solar Power Purchase Agreements), Demand Response and Smart Grid/Local Optimization.

Within ETS, STR team is in charge of expanding the renewable portfolio in Western Central Europe (France, Germany and Benelux) and in Scandinavia.

The business Developer's main challenge is to develop a profitable renewable portfolio in France in close collaboration with ETS teams (trading and operations).

Main activities

Commercial objectives
o Continue building a portfolio of wind and PV aggregation contracts in France
o Continue building and strengthening the network of renewables assets owners (from hedge funds to private owned companies)
o Help maintaining strong relationships with BU Renouvelables France and ENGIE renewables developer/operators
o Negotiate contracts, set up framework contracts where possible, manage conflicts, arrange and manage recurrent meetings with customers
o Make sure we reply on time to all pricing requests for both new parks and existing assets getting out of the FiT system

Representation and regulation
o Follow up of the regulation evolution applicable to the renewable assets in France
o Represent GEM ETS at local events on renewable topics (both internal and external) and help ENGIE to create a strong reputation in the aggregation business

Innovation and market watch
o Help ETS to further invent its business (further develop the product list with innovative ideas, especially in line with the corporate PPA business / Dolphin project) and finding new value pockets for both ETS and the customers
o Market watch on RES market in France


Education & professional background
- Master Degree
- Experience in an origination function and/or portfolio management activity in the commodity business (preferably in power)
- Knowledge of the French power market

Technical & Business skills
- Knowledge and enthusiasm for energy management and renewable energy issues
- Commercial and negotiation skills
- Good communication skills to be able to present a case briefly and logically

Behavioral skills
- Ability to establish effective networks both within and outside the organization
- Team player (excellent social skills and ability to operate in a stressful and demanding environment)
- Well organized
