In an Applications role, applying product knowledge and engineering principles to assure FGS products are sold and installed in applications that do not exceed their specialized design and performance specifications. Provide technical support to Sales, Distributors and end users by answering technical questions about product, relevant codes and standards to identify FGS products that meet application requirements. In a Manufacturing role, to understand the manufacturing processes of the product in order to support production operations. Will provide support through continuous improvement efforts and unique equipment and product designs for use in production.

  • Applications
    • Serve as technical authority insuring FGS products are not knowingly sold or installed in an application with service parameters outside the safe limits of the product.
    • Provide first review of each new request for quotation, to understand technical requirements and recommend appropriate products that meet or exceed technical requirements.
    • Provide answers for technical questions, including questions pertaining to codes and standards, for both internal and external customers.
    • Guide selection of product line for given applications based on chemical and physical compatibilities.
    • Perform engineering calculations and present results for items related to fiberglass pipe products, including pipe properties, design verifications, flow mechanics and pipe sizing.
    • Prepare Technical Packages for tenders and organize the technical tender documents. This includes exceptions and clarifications to the tender specifications.
    • Provide and give technical training on fiberglass piping systems to employees, distributors, agents and customers.
    • Develop and maintain technical information in product literature, assuring published parameters are commensurate with ongoing QC test results and manufacturing practices.
    • When requested, accompanying sales staff on calls to make formal technical presentations to customers engineering staff to encourage the specification of FGS products.
    • Visit job sites to resolve technical issues with design, installation and field failures and to develop a working relationship with customer's key technical staff.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Manufacturing
    • Conceptualize, design and fabricate new equipment necessary to improve key manufacturing operations.
    • Draft, revise and control connector models and drawings for the machine shop, providing technical support as needed. Will review and submit bills of materials for quoting and actual product orders.

This position is located in Houston, TX



  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Three year oil field related pipe line experience.
  • Familiar with industrial processes, particularly onshore and offshore oilfield production processes a plus.
  • Possess technical aptitude and ability to understand engineering, design and product performance issues.
  • Mechanically intuitive, strong design aptitude, and hands-on engineering and assembly.
  • Project management and coordination with other departments and external resources.
  • Ability to solve practical problems.
  • Adequate verbal, written and analytical skills with a professional and helpful demeanor.
  • Computer literacy using Microsoft Office Suite, MathCad, Autodesk Inventor or comparable 3D modeling software.
  • Available for overnight and international travel.


Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work requires some travel. Work may require evening and weekend work.
