Overview / Responsibilities
Wood has a potential opportunity for a Buyer to work with our Mining & Minerals Supply Chain Management team at our Saskatoon, SK, Canada office. This role will be filled contingent on award of project.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and issue Expressions of Interest and Prequalification requests
  • Manage the complete Request for Quotation (RFQ) process
  • Develop bidder lists for assigned RFQ packages
  • Negotiate, prepare, award and administer purchase orders
  • Identify and implement supply chain cost savings initiatives
  • Develop commercial bid evaluations and purchase recommendations
  • Manage the purchase order change management and close out processes
  • Assist with expediting activities to ensure on-time delivery and report delivery status of all equipment, materials and supplier documentation for assigned purchase orders
  • Ensure proper handling of purchasing support documentation and related files
  • Apply corporate and local procurement policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Provide supply chain expertise to clients and ensure that corporate and local procurement policies, procedures and guidelines are followed
  • Identify and address issues related to the procurement process, escalating unresolved issues to the Supply Chain Manager
  • Establish and maintain successful supplier relationships
  • Interface with project teams (i.e. engineering, project management, project controls) as required
  • Participate in client project meetings as required

Skills / Qualifications
  • 3-5 years procurement experience, preferably in Mining industry
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Successful completion of a Technical Diploma, or a Business/Commerce Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution
  • SCMP/MCIPS designation would be considered an asset
  • Understanding of procurement and project management methodologies
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to interface and communicate with various disciplines within Wood office; in a team environment
  • Effective time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • This position is not eligible for relocation assistance. Candidate must live within the Saskatoon area or be willing to relocate at own expense
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada without sponsorship
