CH2M Technical Lead (Stormwater) - Dubai
The CH2M Water Business Group is seeking a Technical Lead in Stormwater / Flood Management to support the growth of the water resources market across the Middle East, North Africa and India and achieve the strategic objectives related to business development, project delivery and technology leadership.  

The principal function of this position is to:
  • strengthen CH2M's presence (technically and commercially) in the MENAI market place, raising awareness of our services, leading to further growth of the water business group.
  • nurture, stretch and develop the technical skills of more junior team members.
  • identify and deliver technical innovation in order to improve efficiency of project and bid delivery processes and to ensure effective dissemination of latest industry methodologies and tools and guidelines.
  • work with project managers to deliver the water resources engineering and modeling outputs to time, budget and quality to the client's satisfaction.
  • use your experience and industry contacts to develop new business and provide inputs to tenders and proposals.
  • support delivery teams to communicate project outputs to internal and external clients through verbal and written communications.
Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
This is a key role in strengthening CH2M's presence (technically and commercially) in the MENAI market place. The requisite engineer will report to their local Team Leader, but form strong collaborative relationships with relevant company staff locally and globally. The priorities of this role include:
  • Design of stormwater infrastructure including understanding of groundwater related issues and sustainable drainage systems for urban and rural areas.
  • Leading stormwater masterplans in urban watersheds, hydrology and flood risk.
  • Technical lead of project teams with capability to train and mentor junior team members.
  • Support of business development - internal and client facing.
  • Regional Service Lead role - networking between global, regional, business development and client facing teams.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:
  Job Requirements/Qualifications/Experience:
  1. A degree in civil engineering and masters (preferable) in water resources.
  2. Membership of appropriate professional institution (ICE, CIWEM, etc.) is not essential but will be preferred.
  3. Having 12-15 years of experience in storm/ flood management and design.
  4. Work Experience should demonstrate:
  • Sound knowledge of hydraulics and hydrology
  • Master planning experience in storm management/ flood management for cities.
  • Experience with piped and surface drainage modelling software and design.
  • Experience with ground water management and design.
  • Design of storm/flood management infrastructures including wadi management (collection, storage, conveyance, pumping, treatment, discharge, protection, etc.).
  • Experience of SUDS's design.
  • Experience of design coordination, design reviews and commercial awareness.
  • Experience of business development support covering technical proposal preparation, level of efforts, schedule and market competence.
