Overview / Responsibilities
Wood Downstream Modifications Business are currently recruiting for a Civil/Structural Designer with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry. This is a permanent role based in our office in Darlington

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Prepare Civil & Structural models in PDMS/PDS, including steel frameworks, foundations, culverts
  • Liaise with other disciplines in the preparation of models and support requirements
  • Extract general arrangements from PDMS/PDS and produce detailed drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Prepare and issue drawings in line with project schedule
  • Ensure all work to be carried out with a positive attitude towards safety, both in design and in the office environment
  • Provides technical support and guidance to junior designers
  • Checking of drawings/models in accordance with Work Practises, standards and client standards
  • Coordinates with other disciplines as and when required
  • Maintain project familiarisation with the project Discipline Design Instruction
  • Participates on Model Reviews as and when required
  • Report changes to the Lead Designer/Lead Engineer

Skills / Qualifications
  • HNC/Degree qualified
  • Previous Experience in Oil & Gas or related industries
  • Previous experience on Microstation
  • Experience of PDMS and AutoCAD is required
