This position provides assistance to the Marine Lubricants Pricing & Sales Operations Manager and plays a critical role in supporting the direction of business strategy through leading the drive to establish and maintain full transactional transparency for Marine Lubricants globally and functionalizing available data to drive improved decision making. This position provides assistance in developing sales and revenue strategy, sales process optimization, business development and cost transparency consistent with the Marine Lubricants Business Unit's goals. The challenge of this position is to work remotely with team members in other regions and it requires a high level of discipline and accountability to ensure tasks are prioritized and completed in time without having close supervision.

Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Manages data leveraging for Marine Lubricants globally. Leads the drive to establish and maintain full transactional transparency for Marine Lubricants globally and functionalizes available data to drive improved decision making.
  • Develops and maintains monthly key metrics reviews and outlier reports (on but not limited to customers & product profitability, costing) with the focus on providing data transparency to support initiatives to increase revenues and reduce costs.
  • Develops reports to support the improvement of customer profitability. Analyses transactional data to fully understand customer profitability (both customer performance and cost structures).
  • Provides facilitation of visibility and insights of transactional information that supports better business decisions through data gathering, analytics and information parsing.
  • Subject matter expert (SME) and process owner for Marine Sales Operations.
  • Understands Marine Lubricants Sales process. Works closely with Sales team and IT to standardize and improve Sales processes.
  • Works closely with Sales team to drive SFDC pipeline and helps boost profitable sales and increase revenue.
  • Supports Marine Leadership team in developing effective fit for purpose customer segmentation to optimize interaction with customers and utilize resources correctly across segmentation. This will entail conducting data analysis to aid the development and implementation of customer segment strategies (e.g. customer tiering/ customer type/ vessel type) and developing analytics and processes to support product and segment strategies (e.g. ancillaries/ offshore)
  • Develops reports to monitor execution of defined strategies and provides insights to Marine Leadership team.
  • Supports Regional Managers, Operations & Customer Service Manager, Pricing & Sales Operations Manager through analysing Service Cloud data aimed to improve organizational capabilities and reduce low value work.
  • Acts as the champion for SFDC (Analytics) within Marine Lubricants. Maintains and develops SFDC (Analytics) for Marine Lubricants.
  • Leverages latest technology (e.g. Analytics, PowerBI) to develop and create effective and sustainable reports.
  • SME on Marine Lubricants Costing. Understands Marine Lubricants supply network and cost structure.
  • Leads process to gather Marine Lubricants product and transportation costing information for profitability analysis and pricing bid quotation development. This would include ensuring cost information is provided by regional supply chain resources in an up to date, timely and accurate manner.
  • Investigates transactional data related customer and operational profitability.
  • Establishes Delivery Agent (DA) cost to serve through the transactional data mode to drive improvements in DA network geographically.
  • Designs processes to monitor transactional costs. Identifies gaps, anomalies and looks for improvement opportunities, drive supply chain efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Works globally with Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service, Pricing, Business Development and Business Support to ensure transactional data is configured for updates/changes in materials, ports and delivery agents. Works closely with Supply Chain to understand costs and update cost changes in DAPortal and SAP.
  • Communicates proactively with Marine Leadership, sales teams, and Business Support team to ensure global alignment and information sharing across regions.
  • Supports Brand, Marketing and Business Development Manager with analysis on potential market entries profitability and sustainability.

Required Qualifications:

Highly desired education and professional experience includes:
  • BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or Finance/Economics
  • 2+ years of commercial experience
  • Analytical mindset and flexible approach
  • Commercial thinking - ability to see the link between the numbers and physical reality
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Very strong Excel, PowerQuery, PowerBI and/ or SFDC (Analytics) skills - ability to manipulate and explore large datasets. Working knowledge of DAX is desired.
  • Ability and willingness to embrace new digital tools as necessary.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills - collaborates with stakeholders globally across multiple time zones.
  • A driven individual who can work independently and is a strong team player.
  • Knowledge of the shipping industry would be advantageous, with an understanding of technical aspects of the industry (e.g. vessels, engines and other tools on the ship)
