  • Manage SQL Server databases
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, Monitor system health and performance
  • Ensures that test and production databases are properly backed up and recovered when necessary.
  • Develops and maintains database backup and recovery procedures.
  • Designs and builds operational infrastructure to support our databases, automating where possible
  • Maintains detailed documentation of database Design/Architecture and setup
  • Data Management and Analytics
  • Engage with Operations, Facilities Engineering, control system vendor support and IS support teams to ensure changes are specified, designed, tested, documented and implemented accordingly for PCN systems and applications.
  • Performs IT system administration tasks, monitors IT system performance, maintains IT applications and escalate where necessary.
  • Assists with maintaining the PCN and IT software license inventory.
  • Assist in maintaining and supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) such as PAS Integrity, PlantStateSuite Alarm Management, Yokogawa FAST/Tools, PlantTriage and PI Historian.
  • Participates in Operations and Facilities Engineering "management of change" and "permit to work" meetings / systems.
  • Troubleshoots MES application incidents and provides assistance with root cause analysis and follow-up corrective support as per the agreed SLA.
  • Provides complex problem solving, continuous improvement and standardization efforts for Windows and some SCADA related work processes.
  • Ensuring all documentation, evergreen procedures and compliance tasks for the MES applications and DMZ IT components are completed and up to date.
  • Maintains current working knowledge of IT and control system trends that could impact plant operations.
  • Ability to setup common health monitoring tags
  • Configure and maintain OPC Server, Web Services, OLEDB Enterprise, API/SDK
  • Experience:

  • 4 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or similar role
  • Experience with MY SQL Server Administration experience required
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO)
  • Experience of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server
  • Windows Domain management and System administration
  • Knowledge of Network support and topology
  • Experience in use of PI Historian Desirable
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications preferably in engineering or computer science
  • Ability to articulate highly complex information to all levels of the business
  • Excellent communication skills, a professional demeanour and an ability to engage with a range of stakeholders and build strong relationships
  • This position will be required to be available for after-hours work as per the agreed support schedules, such as scheduled downtime for of the IS PCN Components, as well as major incidents. May involve occasional site visits.
