Project Engineer - Contract - Melbourne
Our client an integrated oil and gas major with a growing project team looking to hire a Project Engineer to join them in Melbourne. This role is to provide interface coordination between company and EPC contractors on the project.
Participate in invitation to tender development, bid evaluation and contractor selection.
Identification & sourcing of long lead equipment, assuring Front End Engineering Design contractor support until equipment is assigned to the contractor.
Coordinates development of project management stage gate process through critical steps in early phase execution.
Coordinate development of functional interaction plan and support project issues resolution process.
Coordination of change requests and endorse change authorisation.
You will be responsible for the completion of the assigned work scope consistent with the project objectives.
Engages project team and functional resources to verify that the design and construction is consistent with project specifications and standards.
Serves as interface between project team and contractor.
Ensures smooth transitions between project stages.
Leads project management team in applying project management systems.
Skills & Experience Required:
BS degree in engineering field.
Up to 10 years' experience across similar assignments in engineering, construction and project management and controls activities.
Broad range of experience and skills through multiple function & project assignments (Multi-discipline skill set).
Broad knowledge of design standards, specifications & work processes.
Strong leadership, influencing & interpersonal skills.
Strong organisational, coordination, planning & interface skills.
Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads & frequent changes in priorities.
Excellent communication and proficiency in MS Office suite of software programs.
