Senior Pipeline Engineer

Job Purpose:

An RP&IT Senior Engineer is a key member of the team, seeking to use their considerable technical and professional experience to deliver optimum solutions for both project support and R&D activities. In doing so a Senior Engineer shall simultaneously develop their knowledge and that of the team.

Typical background and experience required:
Must have:

A RP&IT Senior Pipeline Engineer will hold an honours degree in Mechanical or Civil or Structural Engineering. The degree must contain a thorough grounding in the theory and techniques of structural engineering.

Numerate and fully computer literate and will also have familiarity with structural engineering analysis.

Considerable experience of relevant pipeline design or installation experience.

Must be able to apply engineering principles to offshore rigid pipeline design and installation problems faced by the TechnipFMC Group. Such problems will include but are not be limited to: pipeline installation by reeling; pipe spooling problems; installation analysis; thermal design; wall thickness design.

Familiarity with and experience of applying pipeline codes and relevant standards of practice.

Experience in use of FE software such as Orcaflex, Abaqus and Ansys.

Nice to have:

Additional qualification and/or experience in pipeline design/installation.

Evidence of post-graduate self-improvement via training or part-time qualifications.

Previous experience of subsea pipeline engineering problems is preferred, particularly in the specialist fields of reel-lay pipeline installation techniques.

Offshore installation or construction experience is also relevant.

Experience/knowledge in engineering criticality assessments (ECA) of pipeline girth welds
