Role synopsis : The Long-term Crude Oil Market Analyst role focuses on analysing market trends and forecasting supply, demand and price. Day to day activities will involve researching markets, maintaining and building forecast models as well as sharing your insights and ideas. You can utilize and contribute to the network of expertise that already exists within various parts of the BP Group. The role typically focusses on a 2 to 10-year forecast and the analysis is communicated to the business through periodic presentations and in written form. There is opportunity to make an impact on BP's business through helping to influence the group strategy and deal selection process.
You will be part of the Long-term Market Analytics team. The role will report to the Head of Long Term Fundamental Analytics - Oil & Gas, whose team sits within the wider Global Trading Analytics organisation, responsible for analysing global oil and gas markets.

Key accountabilities : - You will be delivering a work programme of market analytics in response to the evolving and dynamic needs of the trading, origination and upstream/downstream leadership.
- Maintaining, growing and improving existing analysis covering supply and demand balances and price forecasts.
- Collaboratively identify investment and commercial opportunities to support business strategy;
- Participate in and deliver research projects supporting business strategy development in line with market developments.
- Craft presentation material and written communication to share the analysis across BP;
- Networking across the business including; Origination, Trading, Strategy, Structured Products, Structuring, Shipping, Short Term Analytics, and with counterparts in the Chicago and Singapore offices, with BP's Exploration & Production Business and with Group Head Office;
- Providing thought leadership, vision and challenge.
- There may be opportunity to support external customer-facing activities, partnering with the Origination and Structured Products teams;

Essential Experience:
You will have the ability and confidence to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the global crude oil market;
- Experience of analysing energy markets including the maintenance and development of models projecting supply/demand balances and pricing;
- Translate business need for market understanding into specific analysis;
- Develop forward views for key market variables and identify inherent risks and uncertainties;
- The ability to work in a team environment as well as independently, with strong time and stakeholder management skills;

Desirable criteria and qualifications : Do you have additional experience that will support your application?
- Experience dealing with ambiguity and uncertainty when generating insights and recommendations;
- Experience presenting analysis in a clear, concise and effective manner, via various mediums;
- Examples of challenging traditional thinking and openness to creative ideas;
- Experience of working with comprehensive spreadsheet models;
- Commercial acumen;
