This is a great opportunity, for a recent graduate, to be part of a team of Software Engineers responsible for providing year-round support to customers, either remotely over telephone or by attending site when necessary. In addition to this, you will be working with our sales department to provide sales support and technical advice. You should be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of existing projects. This role will be initially for 6 months with a view to go permanent.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To develop standalone PC software to interface with instrumentation or PLC's.
• To design and develop user interfaces for simple data logging databases.
• The development of batch control systems with HMI for use in industrial environments.
• The generation of technical documentation and handbooks, including FAT/SAT documents.
• Working with the company sales team, providing technical advice and assistance.
• Attend customer sites to commission process control systems, staying away when necessary.
• Provide technical support to customers either remotely or by attending site when necessary.
• Assist the Project Engineering department with hardware specification for PLC based control systems.
• Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance always.
• Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
• Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• HNC, HND or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar.

• BSc or equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar.

Experience:

• Experience writing software specifications and user handbooks.

• Ability to work with multi-discipline projects.

• Experience writing process control software, including familiarity with the following:

Siemens Step 7

TIA Portal

Ladder Logic

SCADA

HMI Design Tools

• Writing FAT/SAT documentation.

Skills, training or special knowledge

• Experience with Windows 7, 10 and Microsoft Office package essential.

• Experience with Visual Studio 2015 (or newer) and .Net Framework (C#).

• Knowledge in the following areas:

MVC,WPF,MVVM

C, C++

Serial Communications

SQL Server, T-SQL

Test Driven Development (TDD)

OOP
