ENGIE are recruiting for a Smart Metering Administrator to be based in Leeds, LS12 1BE . This is a permanent full time role working 37 hours per week. Working hours will be 8:30-17:00 Monday to Thursday and 8:30-16:30 on Friday. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

General Overview:
The purpose of the role is to assist with administration of the roll-out of Smart and Advanced meters across ENGIE's customer portfolio (domestic and non-domestic) as required by the UK Smart Meter Implementation Programme (SMIP) and ENGIE's commercial strategy for Smart meters.

Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:
  • Support the roll-out of Smart and Advanced meters to comply with Supply Licence Conditions and the commercial needs of the business.
  • Understand ENGIE's contractual relationships with Meter Operators, Meter Asset Providers, Smart Meter System Operators (SMSOs) and the Smart Data Communications Company (DCC) to support the roll-out and help ensure that contractual service levels are appropriate and being met.
  • Work with the Meter Operators, and the Customer Service and Market Operations Teams, to maintain efficient processes for the identification, fulfilment and follow up of Smart and Advanced meter installation requirements.
  • Work with Meter Operators and internal stakeholders to ensure a market leading customer experience of Smart and Advanced meter installation and subsequent usage.
  • Responsible for query management in relation to Smart and Advanced meters.
  • Process exceptions associated with the installation process, working with the Market Operations Team Leaders and the relevant agents.
  • Responsible for management and resolution of meter faults and compliance issues.
  • Where SMSO contracts are in place, assist with the process of identifying inherited Smart meters and operating these in Smart mode as soon as practically possible.
  • Deliver regular reports to monitor the progress of the Smart and Advanced meter roll-out against agreed targets.
  • Assist in complying with Ofgem, BEIS, and DCC requests for information and reports on progress.
  • Help to ensure that all smart meter installations are compliant with the Smart Metering Installation Code of Practice.
  • Liaise effectively with third party agents, monitoring and seeking to improve agent performance.

Required Qualifications, Skills or Experience:

Knowledge and skills:
  • General understanding of the Smart metering programme and the functionality of Smart meters
  • Numerical skills
  • Verbal comprehension
  • Microsoft Office proficient
  • Proven ability to produce accurate work within tight deadlines
  • Practical approach to problem solving
  • Good time management and personal organisations skills

  • Experience in a logistical, service provider administration role
  • Experience from a similar role within the Energy sector (desirable)

  • Degree level (or equivalent)
