Vattenfall has been operating in the UK since 2008, the same year that the UK's Climate Change Act came into force. In the past ten years we have invested more than £3.5bn in wind energy and now operate 11 wind farms. We continue to grow the wind pipeline, and now, as we diversify, that growth will be matched by our move into low carbon heat, retail, B2B, e-mobility and power networks.

  • Experienced and effective public relations specialist or ex-journalist with a qualification at degree or post graduate level in communications and/ or journalism, or similar field
  • An ability to think and act in a way that delivers strategic impact, especially in building Vattenfall's brand
  • With a strong knowledge of, and interest in, the UK energy market, politics and the influencers who have an impact, especially those operating in the media
  • An avid consumer of media (print, broadcast and digital) with an eye for trends and curiosity about the world around you
  • You are equally comfortable working in a team or independently, taking the initiative comes naturally to you, enlisting support and working cooperatively your default
  • You will understand and actively implement good PR ethics and standards, and will probably be a member of professional industry bodies

The Department
The Media Relations & Editorial team is part of Staff Function Communications. In the UK, you will join a four-strong team whose main tasks include engaging with all media, managing and publishing in digital media and the Vattenfall website, creating content for all channels, advising and supporting the growth of UK business units, working with national and international colleagues, including in public and regulatory affairs and ensuring Vattenfall speaks in one voice.
