Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently recruiting for Pipefitters with SBT 01 for upcoming Offshore Shutdowns mobbing out of Liverpool Bay.

Role Objective
  • Taking clear direction, using initiative and working with minimum supervision.
  • Carrying out discipline activities safely in accordance with stated requirements and control of work.
  • Working within the Wood core values framework at all times.
  • Providing accurate reporting and recording of daily work activities to Line Supervisor.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications/Certifcates
  • Time served relevant trade discipline or equivalent NVQ / SVQ
  • MJI/TMJI 10
  • SBT/TSBT 01
  • Offshore Medical & Survival
Minimum Experience:
  • Level of experience based on specific project requirements.
Role-Specific Skills:
  • To be fully familiar with general arrangement, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) and piping isometric drawings.
  • Recognition of materials and grades (pipes, fittings, gaskets, bolts, valves, etc.).
  • Ability to identify various joint and gasket types.
  • Ability to prepare pipe ends and fittings for welding.
  • Locating and installing prefabricated pipework.
  • Proficient in the use of hand and power tools.
  • Assemble, secure and check components using the appropriate methods, techniques, connectors and securing devices.
Completion of the below activities using the appropriate equipment/methods in accordance with drawings and appropriate standards and specifications.
  • Laying out, marking, cutting and preparation of pipe.
  • Assembly, bolting and tightening of flanged joints / piped connections.
  • Installation of brackets and pipe supports.
  • Knowledge and understanding of hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure system testing.
